I like to think that the Women Rights Movements in this country accomplished a lot and changed the overall view of females’ value in society. But somehow in 2014, we are still talking about birth-control and equal pay for female employees during political debates. Brands are still using oversexualized pictures of coy-looking young girls to sell products, while squeamish passengers complain about mothers breastfeeding on airplanes. Perhaps this really is “a man’s world”. Hmmm. I love being a lady, but I must admit that I envy the fact that men never have to explain away their strength to make others feel more comfortable, nor do they have to wait in long bathroom lines. Men never wear special undies to “hide lines” or are shamed by weight gain inherited from growing a human being inside their bodies. Seriously, I wish James Brown could raise from the dead and shout in everyone’s ears that this world would be NOTHINNNNN without a woman or a girl. So… I decided to get my grown man on in this shoot… well kinda.
